Far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker insisted on his “God-given” and “constitutionally protected right” to express his hatred for America during a live stream on Friday. This response came after an attack ad targeted Democratic Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed for his association with Piker, who has made controversial statements claiming to “hate” America.
Piker stated in clips used in the ad, “Bro, I hate this country, dude. I hate America.” He explained his anger was directed at how the American government affects its citizens and others worldwide, emphasizing his right to voice this criticism.
Of course I’m a God—- American. It is my God—- God-given and constitutionally protected right to say I hate America if America is actually f—ing over Americans. You can clip chimp it all day. It doesn’t change that mentality.
Abdul El-Sayed, a progressive candidate for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, faced backlash for associating with Piker during his campaign. Despite distancing himself from Piker in recent weeks, the Michigan Democrat dealt with criticism over Piker’s past statements, including controversial comments regarding 9/11.
During his Friday livestream, Piker expressed his frustration with government policies, focusing on the lack of support for the sick, hungry, and homeless, despite abundant resources. This dissatisfaction, he argues, fuels his outspoken criticism of America.
How can you not get angry and resentful about a government that does nothing to treat its sickly, to feed its hungry, to shelter its homeless, when we have all the money we have an abundance of wealth and prosperity, and we just refuse to spread it around?
In an interview at the 2026 Socialism Conference in Chicago, Piker clarified his remarks about America’s foreign policy in the Middle East. He admitted that the language he used was controversial, though he stood by his overall argument.
Fox News Digital reached out to Piker for further comments. Hasan Piker has faced scrutiny for framing a newspaper covering the 9/11 attacks in his stream and has acknowledged using “controversial” language.
