Government Investigations into Unexplained Aerial Phenomena

Government investigations into mysterious Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) have been detailed by retired Defense Intelligence senior executive Jay Stratton. Appearing on ‘Special Report’ with Bret Baier, Stratton shared alarming military encounters with black triangle aircraft and discussed potential national security risks associated with these sightings. He also explained the use of nuclear submarines by the U.S. military as a tracking method for these anomalies.

Recently released documents from the Department of War revealed reports of a black triangular object seen hovering silently over a mountain ridge. This object reportedly accelerated to speeds akin to a fighter jet. This 2026 sighting is one of several incidents described in the records, which explore UAPs, longstanding military encounters, and sightings of mysterious creatures, unexplained lights, and supposed portals at a Utah ranch.

One FBI report mentions an encounter with a dark triangular object, resembling a drone, that appeared to have no visible exhaust or propulsion system. The object rose vertically above a ridgeline and accelerated into a canyon without making a sound. An image from the 2026 FBI report shows a black triangular object above mountainous terrain. The authenticity of the image as a photograph or reconstruction is unconfirmed.

The Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) provided a more detailed account. A matte-black triangular object reportedly climbed 200 to 300 feet above a ridgeline, hovered for around 20 seconds, and then rapidly disappeared into a canyon. Without visible engines, rotors, or exhausts, the object’s presence remains unexplained.

Thermal equipment showed a uniform heat signature on the object, deviating from typical hot spots linked with propulsion systems. Although the object’s speed was estimated by witnesses, no instrumental measurements were recorded. The FBI and AARO reports differed on encounter duration, estimating three seconds and approximately 35 seconds, respectively. Neither report established the object’s identity or origin.

In another historical record, a radar detection involving a B-52 bomber occurred during a Strategic Air Command mission near Saudi Arabia in 1957. The radar contact persisted before vanishing as the bomber changed direction. Separate sightings near California’s Santa Catalina Island in 1952 also emerged, with Boy Scouts reporting a silent, silver object moving faster than a conventional jet.

An Air Force report from March 1955 described a witness observing a bright, round object changing colors before descending. The sighting was eventually classified as a probable meteor.

A comprehensive investigation by Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) in 2010 covered a Utah ranch known for unexplained phenomena. Residents reported seeing dog-like creatures, mysterious lights, and other unusual occurrences. Some witnesses also described hairy creatures and seemingly prehistoric animals.

Eyewitness sketches, surveillance footage, and environmental monitoring were components of this investigation. Hair samples collected were identified as belonging to common animals like domestic dogs and raccoons. The report did not confirm the existence of either the alleged creatures or any extraordinary phenomena.

Fox News Digital has contacted officials for further commentary on these findings. Greg Wehner is noted for reporting on major stories impacting U.S. communities, emphasizing crime and public safety.
