George Clooney Reflects on the Tragic Loss of Presley Gerber

George Clooney has recently addressed the tragic passing of Presley Gerber. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Clooney, a close friend of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, shared the profound impact of this loss on the family. He mentioned, “I don’t think we’re even in the position of being able to talk about it.”

Clooney continued, “It’s one of the most devastating things that’s happened to our family. And their family is just, as you can imagine, it’s the worst thing that could ever happen to a family.”

Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, tragically passed away at the age of 27 on September 20. His death occurred at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. He had checked into the Resolutions Living facility on September 19.

George Clooney has been a longstanding friend of the Gerber family and co-founded Casamigos Tequila with Rande Gerber. He was affectionately known as “Uncle George” by the Gerber children. Following Presley’s death, Clooney and his wife, Amal, visited Kaia Gerber’s home in Los Angeles. Sources who spoke to The Daily Mail noted Clooney’s closeness to Presley, with frequent communication between them.

According to one source, “George would spend hours talking to Presley. George is the nicest guy in the world and would do anything to help Rande’s family.” George offered advice, especially after Presley’s DUI in 2018, saying, “Don’t do that, it’s not smart. Be careful.” He shared heartfelt messages like, “I am here for you.”

Months before his death, Presley openly shared on Instagram about his decision to undergo an “ibogaine flood dose,” a psychedelic treatment in Cancún, Mexico. He expressed feeling “absolutely terrified” about the experience, acknowledging, “letting go of control didn’t come easy,” but recognized “something bigger than me guiding it.”

Presley wrote that he understood his reasons for being there, faced personal challenges, and began, “finding my way back to myself,” in the process. He expressed hope, saying, “praying it’s the last time” he would need such treatment.
