Raquel Lee Bolleau, a former Disney Channel actress, has filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company, citing disturbing experiences on set. Bolleau alleges that she endured repeated sexual abuse by an adult male employee while filming the Disney Channel movie “The Poof Point” in 2001.
According to the lawsuit, the abusive incidents began after Disney personnel encouraged her to “bond” with the adult employee. This employee allegedly provided her with alcohol and sexually assaulted her multiple times during the film’s production.
Afterward, Bolleau claims that the perpetrator remarked, “You’re old enough. You can handle it.” Bolleau returned to the set visibly affected, smelling of alcohol, and vomiting. Despite these signs, Disney personnel reportedly did not investigate her condition or what had occurred. Instead, a Disney executive allegedly labeled her behavior as “out of control,” indicating dissatisfaction with the production.
The lawsuit further alleges that Disney violated California laws requiring a guardian to stay within sight or sound of the performer under 16 years old. Bolleau claims she was often separated from her guardian, who was told they were not needed on the set. This separation allegedly left her vulnerable, providing her abuser unrestricted access.
On set, Bolleau alleges she faced harassment and inappropriate physical contact from the abusive employee, which took place openly, sometimes within earshot of sound technicians. She claims the abuse continued even after production ended, describing an incident on a flight back to California where she was seated next to the abuser who again assaulted her.
Bolleau is suing Disney for negligence and failure to protect her from abuse. Her legal representatives, Doug Wigdor and Jane Kim, emphasize that such behavior is intolerable and those responsible must be held accountable.
Raquel Bolleau has had a notable career, beginning with an appearance on “Malcolm & Eddie” and later joining Nickelodeon’s “The Amanda Show.” As the lawsuit unfolds, Disney has not yet provided a comment regarding the allegations.
