The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Class I recall warning for a variety of salad products due to potential bacterial contamination. The New York-based company, Made Fresh Salads, voluntarily recalled their ready-to-eat deli-style salads, assorted cream cheese products, and half-size aluminum pans last month. The recall stems from possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
A total of 61 products have been recalled and classified by the FDA. The Class I designation represents the highest risk level, indicating a reasonable probability that the consumption or exposure to the affected products could result in serious health consequences or death.
Distribution has taken place in areas such as Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and New York City through direct delivery to retail stores and distributors, according to FDA statements.
This situation is ongoing, and further updates are anticipated.
