A tragic accident claimed the life of a 49-year-old motorcyclist on Wednesday night in Chicago, according to police reports. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. as the motorcyclist traveled southbound along the 400 block of South Lake Shore Drive in the Loop neighborhood. At that time, a gray sedan moved in the same direction, striking the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where medical personnel pronounced her dead. Authorities stated that the 25-year-old sedan driver remained unhurt but was detained at the accident site.
The Major Accident Investigation Unit is conducting an inquiry into the crash to gather more details and provide clarity on the events leading up to the accident.
