A person died on Wednesday morning after being struck on I-80/I-94 in southwest suburban Lansing. The incident involved a pedestrian who was changing a tire, according to the Illinois State Police. The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on westbound I-80 near Torrence Avenue.
Troopers dispatched to the scene reported that preliminary findings suggest the victim was hit while attempting to change a tire. This unfortunate incident led to the closure of two lanes as the investigation proceeded.
