Eva Marie Saint, renowned for her contributions to Hollywood’s Golden Era, has passed away at the age of 102. A representative confirmed that she died of natural causes at her Los Angeles home, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Saint’s film career began with her unforgettable debut opposite Marlon Brando in the 1954 film “On the Waterfront.” Her portrayal of Edie Doyle earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. This launched her into Hollywood notoriety as a defining star of that time.
In 1959, Saint further established her place in cinema history by starring with Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock’s “North by Northwest.” Her role as Eve Kendall, the iconic “Hitchcock Blonde,” in this thriller remains memorable.
Throughout her career, Saint associated with numerous legends. She acted alongside Montgomery Clift, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck, Richard Burton, Warren Beatty, James Garner, George C. Scott, Burt Lancaster, and Tom Hanks.

She married director Jeffrey Hayden, to whom she was wed for 65 years until his passing in 2016. She leaves behind two children, Darrell and Laurette, along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
