Stage Play Welcomes Back Favorite Characters
Leslie Kimbell, known for the “Four Old Broads” series, brings her favorite character back for a beauty pageant. The Footlight Players present “The Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Beauty Pageant” at 1705 Franklin St. in Michigan City. Shows are at 7 p.m. on June 11-13 and at 2 p.m. on June 14. Directed by Leslie Evans, the play features sassy Martha Parcell aiming for the pageant crown, alongside Beatrice, Eaddy, Imogene, and Maude. A tambourine-playing squirrel, an octogenarian, dueling Elvises, and a spray-tanning mishap add humor. Tickets cost $17 for adults and $12 for children under 12. Festival Fun in Hessville
The “Live in the Ville” festival in Hessville Park runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on June 12 and 13. It features free admission.
