City Official Talib Shakir Killed in Scooter Collision

D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser’s office and the D.C. police have confirmed the tragic death of a city official in an electric scooter accident on Friday evening. The victim was identified as Talib Shakir, a 50-year-old who served as the director of the mayor’s office of returning citizen affairs. This office is responsible for coordinating services for individuals who were formerly incarcerated.
