Chris Hemsworth’s recent family getaway took a dramatic turn when he encountered a lightning storm mid-flight. The 42-year-old “Thor” actor documented the experience in a YouTube vlog, showing his adventure in Costa Rica with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children.
The video includes footage of the storm with lightning flashing around the small plane and evident turbulence. Clearly shaken, Hemsworth mouthed, “What the f—?” about the situation. In the video’s caption, he referred to the journey as a “crazy plane ride.”
“Fortunately, the flight landed safely, allowing the Hemsworth family to enjoy the remainder of their vacation.”
The family continued with an action-packed trip, involving surfing, ATV rides, cliff jumping, fishing, and waterfall hikes. At one point, Pataky humorously pushed Hemsworth into a waterfall.
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky, who married in 2010, share three children: daughter India and twin sons Sasha and Tristan. The family often embraces adventurous activities, both at home in Australia and when traveling.
This vacation incident follows Hemsworth’s previous revelation about his health. During filming of National Geographic’s “Limitless,” he discovered he carries two copies of the APOE4 gene linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
After revealing this in 2022, Hemsworth took a break from acting, leading to widespread speculation about his career and health. In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2024, he expressed frustration over rumors of his retirement.
Despite rumors, he humorously noted a comment on an article wishing he would “forget” his retirement plans.
