A 27-year-old man from Sacramento, California, named Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce has been arrested for allegedly sending violent threats to Jackson County Chancery Court Judge Ashlee Cole. The charges, as per federal court documents, relate to interstate transmission of a threatening communication.
Dumarce allegedly sent threatening messages via Facebook Messenger to Judge Cole. One message suggested that a bomb would be sent to Cole’s office, reading, “There will be a package coming to your guys office in the next few days. It’s gonna blow you away when you see it lol. probably best to have the boys there to see as well.”
Judge Cole is the mother of Warren Hudson, a friend of Nolan Wells. Wells, 18, went missing on July 4 after taking a boat trip with friends to Horn Island in Mississippi. His body was discovered by a National Parks Service ranger on July 6.
Dumarce’s threatening messages continued with, “Blood. So much blood everywhere. Hard to clean. Especially from a boat. But yours will be quick I promise. I got all your info. Not even the FBI can stop this.” Allegedly, Dumarce also made calls to the Jackson County Chancery Court office on July 11 at 1:27 a.m.
The investigation identified Dumarce using the email linked to his Facebook account. The charge he faces has a maximum penalty of five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
Authorities have not accused Warren Hudson of any wrongdoing in the disappearance of Wells. Records indicate Wells decided to stay on Horn Island rather than return with Hudson. During a July 22 news conference, attorney Ben Crump mentioned a “red discoloration” on Wells’ head was noted, but no conclusion about the cause or manner of death has been reached.
Wells was a promising wide receiver playing for Southwest Mississippi Community College with aspirations of reaching Division I. The FBI has opted not to comment on this case.
