New Orleans Saints rookie Brock Rechsteiner gained attention at a recent training camp due to an altercation with the Dallas Cowboys. Rechsteiner, son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner and nephew of Rick Steiner, showcased wrestling maneuvers on opponents during the incident.
The joint practice between the Cowboys and Saints turned into a chaotic scene with punches thrown, helmets tossed, and wrestling moves displayed. This incident took place at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center in Metairie, Louisiana, on August 8, 2026.
Pat McAfee, known for his previous role as a WWE commentator, remarked on the brawl during his show. He noted, “This is Scott Steiner’s boy doing Rick Steiner’s German suplex… He needs to head to NXT right now and join Bron Breakker.” Rechsteiner’s cousin, Bron Breakker, is a rising star in WWE and is set to compete against Oba Femi at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6.
Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Sam Williams was also involved in the fight with Saints tight end Moliki Matavao. The brawl occurred on August 18, 2026, in Oxnard, California.
Rechsteiner faced suspension for the first six games of the NFL season after violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He previously played as a wide receiver at Jacksonville State, recording 53 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns between 2023 and 2025. In his last season with the Gamecocks, he made 36 catches for 383 yards and scored five touchdowns.
Both Brock and his brother Brandon Rechsteiner had signed NIL deals with WWE last year. Brandon, a guard for the Colorado State Rams, averaged 12 points per game during the 2025-26 season before transferring to Kansas State.
Brock initially joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans before transferring to the New Orleans Saints.
