An Arizona man previously linked to the unsolved kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie has been detained again on separate charges. According to local authorities, Luke Daley was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on September 30, 2026.
A spokesperson from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that Daley’s arrest is not related to the Guthrie case. Daley, aged 37, has a long criminal history with several felony convictions. Earlier this year, on February 13, police stopped him in a Culver’s parking lot and searched his mother’s residence during the Nancy Guthrie investigation. Her home is located about two miles away in Tucson’s Catalina Foothills neighborhood.
No one is permanently ruled out as the sheriff prepares for possible legal actions concerning the case.
Authorities have not officially identified any suspects in the abduction of the 84-year-old woman. Surveillance footage from her Nest doorbell camera captured a masked intruder at her doorstep around the time of her disappearance, who remains unapprehended.
Daley’s attorney, Chris Scileppi, stated that there is no connection between Daley and Nancy Guthrie. Both Daley and his mother, along with the Tucson community, hope for her safe return. Despite this, Daley faces drug and firearm charges and is currently on probation for previous violations related to drugs and weapons. Prosecutors are seeking to revoke his probation.
Authorities encourage anyone with information about Guthrie’s case to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or Tucson’s Crime Stoppers at 520-88-CRIME. A reward of more than $1.2 million is offered, yet remains unclaimed.
Nancy Guthrie, mother to “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for over eight months. The FBI released images from her doorbell camera, although it’s unclear if they depict the same individual.
The Guthrie family received two notes from her alleged kidnappers through media tip forms. One demanded ransom, while the other claimed she had died unexpectedly. Investigators have not confirmed the authenticity of these notes nor identified their sender.
