A Cornell University student, Austin Franco, is under investigation following antisemitic comments made during the rejection of a summer internship with Jewish-owned startup VryfID. This incident has ignited discussions about the broader issue of discrimination on college campuses.
Franco reportedly declined an interview with VryfID, stating, “Not interested in working for a Jew,” as shared by co-founders Gabe and Aiden Einhorn. VryfID, a startup in New York City, aims to enhance security by verifying identities and connecting renters with landlords to prevent fraud.
Aiden Einhorn expressed disappointment in Franco’s response. “College students are vital to helping VryfID grow,” he wrote. Franco’s reply highlighted his negative experiences with Jews, further fueling debates on the origin of such biases.
