Allen Robinson, a veteran NFL player, has officially retired. He had not played since 2024 and had stints with several teams including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions. After no team signed him last season, Robinson decided to end his football career.
Robinson shared his retirement news on Instagram, coinciding with his 33rd birthday. In his message, he expressed deep gratitude for his 11 years in the league. “As I reflect on another year of life, I find myself especially grateful; not just for where I am, but for the journey that brought me here,” he wrote. “Football gave me more than I ever could’ve imagined. It challenged me, shaped me, humbled me, and rewarded me in ways I’ll carry for the rest of my life. I leave with nothing but gratitude.”
Throughout his career, Robinson caught 565 passes for 7,058 yards and scored 43 touchdowns. His most impressive season was in 2015 with the Jaguars, where he recorded 80 receptions, 1,400 yards, and 14 touchdowns. Robinson achieved two additional 1,000-yard seasons with the Bears, earning Pro Bowl recognition both times. In 2019, he made 98 catches for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns. The following year, he logged 102 catches, 1,250 yards, and six touchdowns.
Unfortunately, Robinson’s career was impacted by a foot injury sustained with the Rams in 2022, from which he never fully recovered. Despite the setback, he retires with the distinction of having made one Pro Bowl and once leading the NFL in touchdown receptions.
