Alaric Jackson’s Suspension Reduced to One Game After Incident

NFL hearing officer Derrick Brooks reduced the suspension of Los Angeles Rams tackle Alaric Jackson from two games to one. The reduction follows an incident involving Buffalo Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb at SoFi Stadium. Buffalo secured a 37-34 overtime victory over the Rams on Monday night.

After the game, Jackson removed his jersey and shoulder pads. He then threw a punch at Chubb during the postgame handshake. Jackson claimed that Chubb made degrading remarks about his mother. Despite the provocation, Chubb did not respond physically.

The reduction in suspension means Jackson will lose one game check instead of two. This saves him approximately $934,555 from his $16.8 million base salary. Jackson will serve the one-game suspension against the Arizona Cardinals. He plans to return in Week 7 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The official suspension statement noted Jackson’s violation of Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1. This rule addresses actions contrary to sportsmanship principles. The confrontation with Chubb led to the suspension decision.

This is not Jackson’s first disciplinary issue with the NFL. He faced a two-game suspension in 2024 for unconsented phone recordings. Additionally, he participated in a diversion program after a 2024 arrest for domestic violence.
