A tragic hit-and-run incident resulted in the death of a 64-year-old woman in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood early Sunday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 2:42 a.m., according to local authorities.
Chicago police reported the victim was a passenger in a dark-colored SUV heading north on South Stony Island Avenue. A dark-colored sedan collided with the SUV during the incident. Following the crash, the driver of the sedan abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed no other individuals were injured in this collision. Currently, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing as authorities search for the suspect.
