Carmen Electra recently embraced her Playboy past during the 35th Anniversary celebration of The Abbey Food & Bar. On the red carpet, she wore a striking leopard-print bodysuit complemented by matching bunny ears, a bow tie, and cufflinks. Her look included sheer black tights, a black purse, jewelry, and black high heels. Electra styled her long blonde hair straight and opted for dramatic silver eyeshadow and bold lashes.
Electra’s connection to Playboy is significant, although she was never an official Playmate. She appeared in the magazine five times, famously styled in the iconic bunny costume once. Her first feature was a nude photo shoot in May 1996, followed by another in June 1997. Reflecting on those days, Electra mentioned the iconic figures such as Marilyn Monroe who graced Playboy’s pages and how she felt inspired by them.
“Once I saw the photos, I was … I had to pinch myself. I couldn’t believe that I was actually in the magazine and going to be a part of such an iconic time,” Electra recalled.
Her appearances in Playboy led to her being cast in the popular TV series Baywatch, joining for its eighth season in 1997. On her journey to fame, Electra, during a 90s convention, revealed her earlier struggles, including homelessness in Los Angeles and her determination to break into Hollywood despite not coming from a wealthy background.
In recent years, Electra has shifted her focus to the content-sharing platform OnlyFans, which she joined in 2022. She described this move as a natural decision, stating that it allowed her to connect more intimately with her fans and maintain control over her image and creativity.
“I just felt like, ‘Yeah, I need to do this,’” Electra explained. “For once, I have this opportunity to be my own boss and have my own creative vision without someone telling me what to cover up.”
