President Trump Threatens War with Iran Amidst Nuclear Program Tensions

President Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, demanding compliance with U.S. terms on its nuclear program or facing potential military action. This follows continuous resistance from Iran towards the U.S. demands to dismantle significant parts of its nuclear initiatives.

On Sunday night, President Trump used a social media platform to convey that Iran must act quickly, stating, ‘or there won’t be anything left,’ emphasizing ‘the Clock is Ticking.’ Although no specific deadline was provided, similar threats have been made by the President over the last two months without enforcement.

Currently, negotiations between the U.S. and Iran remain at a standstill, while Trump has consistently warned of initiating military action unless Iran agrees to concessions. The primary point of contention involves the U.S. demand for Iran to halt uranium enrichment and desist efforts to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, an essential avenue for global oil and gas transportation. The ongoing strife over the Strait has caused disruptions in market stability and inflated oil prices.

In a recent development, Iran submitted an additional counterproposal to the U.S. to ease negotiations. The Iranian foreign ministry affirmed ongoing negotiations are mediated by Pakistan.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, responded to Trump’s threats by assuring the media, ‘Don’t worry, we know very well how to respond,’ without providing further details. Iran has previously intimated intentions of vigorous retaliation if attacked by either the U.S. or Israel.
