AJ Dybantsa, the top pick in the NBA draft, marked his debut for the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The Wizards faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by James Harden. Dybantsa quickly showcased his potential during this anticipated matchup.
Since John Wall’s selection in 2010, Dybantsa is Washington’s first No. 1 overall draft choice. In the game against Cleveland, he immediately demonstrated his skill by driving to the basket on the first possession. His aggressive play led to a foul, sending him to the free throw line.
Dybantsa, who excelled in free throw attempts while at BYU, calmly sank both shots. These points marked the beginning of his NBA scoring career and highlighted his transition from college basketball to the professional stage.
