Judge Orders Testimony in East Potomac Golf Links Tree Dispute

In a significant legal development, a federal judge has mandated further investigation into the removal of approximately 430 trees at East Potomac Golf Links. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Ana C. Reyes demanded a detailed account from government officials regarding the rapid execution of this plan.

Judge Reyes has instructed National Park Service Director Jessica Bowron and Gregory Wischer, the deputy chief of staff at the Interior Department, to testify. They are scheduled to present their explanations next Monday.

This order followed an intense hearing where the judge criticized government attorneys for their handling of the situation.
