Riley Green’s Successful Elk Hunt in Utah

Riley Green recently swapped his music stage for the mountains of Utah, concluding his trip with a successful elk hunt. The country star took down a notable bull elk using a compound bow. Green shared on Instagram, “Freezer is full. Not many things challenge you like bow hunting elk… thankful for a few days to chase em in the Utah mountains and that I was able to put it all together on an awesome bull.”

The images he posted revealed a large, mature bull elk with an impressive set of antlers. He also shared the arduous process of transporting the elk meat from the mountains, highlighting the physical demands involved. For fans of Green who know him outside his music career, his feat comes as no surprise due to his passion for hunting, particularly bowhunting.

Green is a frequent guest host on “Major League Bowhunter,” where he was once showcased on a Montana elk hunt dubbed “3rd Times A Charm.” He has expressed the challenges of fitting such hunts into his touring schedule, noting the restricted hunting seasons and the extensive time required to locate elk. He recounted drawing elk tags over consecutive years with limited time available for hunting.

The difficulty of bowhunting should not be underestimated. Unlike rifle hunting, it demands proximity to the elk before taking a shot. These animals can weigh several hundred pounds and navigate vast, challenging terrains, posing a daunting challenge for hunters.

Riley Green was not the only country artist to hunt successfully in Utah recently. Luke Combs also filled his freezer with elk meat, though he resorted to a rifle in the end after initially attempting to bowhunt. Combs credited the hunt with contributing to his recent 30-pound weight loss.

Both Green and Combs exemplify a successful elk hunting season among country music stars, showcasing their ability to pursue demanding hobbies alongside their music careers.
