Miranda Lambert’s Evolving Musical Journey

Miranda Lambert’s Evolving Musical Journey

In the twenty years since her breakout with ‘Kerosene,’ Miranda Lambert has attained remarkable success in country music. Her new album, ‘Crisco,’ aims at achieving further stardom. Lambert’s journey began with a determined attitude, as seen in her 2005 hit ‘Kerosene,’ which portrayed her as a fierce individual taking revenge on a cheating lover. This set the tone for her career, showing the industry her uniqueness.

Last year, Lambert celebrated ‘Kerosene’s’ 20th anniversary at the Academy of Country Music Awards by performing it as a duet with up-and-coming star Ella Langley. The performance showed Lambert’s evolving persona as she enjoyed the moment with Langley. In 2026, Lambert’s collaboration with Langley on ‘Choosin’ Texas’ became a huge hit, reflecting Lambert’s expanding influence in the music world.

While discussing the success of ‘Choosin’ Texas,’ co-written and co-produced by Lambert, she expressed joy in bringing new audiences to country music through this pop-chart-topping song. Lambert’s album ‘Crisco’ incorporates bygone eras’ production techniques into its melodies, inspired by past genres that embraced pop influences.

Jesse Frasure, a Nashville producer, partnered with Lambert to remix her song ‘Tequila Does’ into a tropical house track, marking Lambert’s musical experimentation. Despite always having relied on guitar, Lambert adapted to new songwriting methods with programmed tracks and loops, embracing collaboration with Frasure and Chris Stapleton in creating ‘A Song to Sing.’

Lambert and Frasure’s creative synergy led to an entire album based on these new styles, except for covering Jim Croce’s ‘I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song.’ In search of inspiration, Frasure curated a playlist titled ‘Mirandapolitan’ to guide their creative process, incorporating influences of artists like Glen Campbell and Lee Hazelwood.

At Blackbird Studios, Frasure innovated by using disco balls and colorful lighting to create an ambience suiting Lambert’s new musical direction. The result was a process that highlighted Lambert’s vocal gifts with a focus on romantic, elaborate arrangements.

Lambert’s efforts to cater to her LGBTQ+ fans draw inspiration from Dolly Parton and other female stars. She aims to become a staple in drag performances, considering it a significant milestone. During CMA Fest, Lambert held a ‘Crisco Disco’ drag brunch, echoing New York City’s storied gay club scene.

Lambert’s album ‘Crisco’ features ‘Snakeskin Boots,’ and she helps Ella Langley navigate the music scene. Lambert contributed to Langley’s album ‘Dandelion,’ supporting Langley as her song ‘Choosin’ Texas’ sets records on the Billboard charts. Lambert cherishes mentoring young artists and supporting their aspirations, driven by her experiences as a newcomer without similar guidance.

Jesse Frasure, well-versed in Nashville’s publishing landscape, underscores Lambert’s unique willingness to assist emerging artists. Lambert creates a nurturing environment during co-writes, fostering confidence in younger artists. This mentoring role marks Lambert’s evolving mindset in music. She views herself as unchanged in essence but embracing musical and personal growth.
