LSU head coach Lane Kiffin delivered an impassioned halftime speech during a commanding 51-10 win against the Clemson Tigers over the weekend. The speech, captured in leaked video footage on social media, took place as LSU led 31-3 at halftime. Kiffin’s tone suggested urgency despite the comfortable lead, encouraging players to maintain their intensity.
“Alright, guys, we started here like seven or eight months ago, or whatever it was, alright? And we asked you to work really hard, OK? And we asked you to come back to work again and again and again. Do you feel good about what happened?” Kiffin declared. “Who gives a [expletive] about what happened? That’s what’s supposed to happen! Ain’t no [expletive] celebrations for that. They’re [expletive] soft! They work different! We’re [expletive] different, so you gotta show ’em again!”
In the second half, LSU continued its dominant performance, securing a 51-10 victory over Clemson. Kiffin demanded his players demonstrate their abilities regardless of how many snaps remained.
“You [expletive] take it out on them! The whole [expletive] world hates you!” Kiffin exclaimed.
LSU’s victory transpired amid controversy surrounding efforts to recruit players with previous NFL contracts. The team sought to add tight end Dae’Quan Wright and defensive lineman Zxavian Harris, both of whom were released from NFL training camps.
These players, familiar to Kiffin from his tenure at Ole Miss, were not listed on the roster for the Clemson matchup. ESPN’s Pete Thamel highlighted potential fines and SEC interventions against LSU’s recruitment moves.
Looking ahead, LSU prepares to host Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Sept. 12. With Kiffin’s fiery rhetoric, expectations remain high for his team’s performance.
