St. Louis Shooting: Teen Injured in Restaurant Dispute

A tense situation at a Jimmy John’s in St. Louis led to a 14-year-old girl being shot in the leg and an employee facing serious charges. The incident occurred on a Saturday evening near the intersection of Vandeventer and Laclede avenues. The teenage girl was transported to a local hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

The accused shooter, identified in court documents as 27-year-old Adam White, worked at the Jimmy John’s where the conflict started. The altercation involved the girl’s mother and multiple individuals connected to the restaurant on the 3800 block of Laclede, police disclosed.

White has been charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and child endangerment, among various other felony charges. Police have determined the shooting ensued after a disagreement involving the girl’s mother and restaurant associates.

Following the confrontation, the girl’s mother’s boyfriend arrived at the location with the teenager. Tensions escalated, resulting in gunshots. The court documents specify that White engaged in a verbal altercation with a former employee in the parking lot. This former employee, her boyfriend, and their daughter then got into a vehicle.

As the vehicle departed, White allegedly fired numerous bullets into its rear, striking the teen in her leg. Investigators reported ballistic damage to the vehicle’s trunk.

Initially fleeing the scene, White eventually returned and was arrested. After being read his Miranda rights, White confessed to firing at the vehicle and indicated the firearm was left at his residence. A judge has detained White without bond while awaiting trial.

Both Jimmy John’s and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department have not yet commented on the situation. Sophia Compton, a writer at Fox News Digital, covers the story.
