Andy Williams, recognized in the wrestling arena as The Butcher, passed away following a medical emergency during a wrestling event. The 48-year-old was engaged in a match at Enjoy Wrestling at Mr. Smalls Theater in Millvale, Pennsylvania, when he collapsed at the end of his bout.
The match featured Williams alongside his fellow wrestler Jesse Guilmette, known in the ring as The Blade. In an official statement, the wrestling promotion shared that the medical team present administered CPR immediately after the incident until emergency services arrived. Spectators were sent home, and the staff awaited further details from the hospital.
“Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived,” the company said.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed to TMZ that Williams had died. Reactions to his sudden passing echoed throughout the professional wrestling community on social media platforms.
Apart from his wrestling career, Williams was also celebrated as a musician. He played guitar for the band Every Time I Die from its inception in 1998 until it dissolved in 2022. The band was well recognized in music circles, performing at major events and festivals.
Williams ventured into wrestling in the early 2010s, officially debuting in 2015. He and Guilmette, as The Butcher and The Blade, competed in various major wrestling promotions including All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Ring of Honor (ROH), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
His unique career bridging music and wrestling left a lasting imprint on both industries. Andy Williams’ legacy continues to be remembered by fans and peers alike.
