A pastor and massage therapist from California, David Johnson, age 58, has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the molestation of two children under 14. Charges were filed in Ventura County, as reported by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
Johnson faces six felony child molestation charges. The alleged abuse occurred in Ojai and Oxnard over several years. Prosecutors believe Johnson had access to the children through a family connection. They have not disclosed the identities of the children involved.
Details of the Charges
Johnson faces four felony counts of committing lewd acts on a child and two felony counts of continuous sexual abuse. Special allegations have been filed concerning substantial sexual conduct and the victims being under 14 years old.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnson. He is currently in custody without bail, following his arraignment, where he pleaded not guilty. A bail review hearing is set for Friday.
“We are actively seeking information about potential additional victims,” said the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
Deputy District Attorney Cesar Ponce from the Sexual Assault Unit is handling the case. The authorities have asked anyone with information about Johnson or other potential unreported crimes to reach out.
