Adam Schefter, renowned ESPN insider, will appear on NFL Network’s “The Insiders” weekly this fall. Original reporting by OutKick reveals that Schefter will return to NFL Network, where he began his national career from 2004 to 2009, before moving to ESPN.
This marks his first appearance on the network in 17 years. Schefter’s debut on “The Insiders” is expected to occur on Wednesdays during the NFL season.
The NFL Network originally hosted “The Insiders” as its flagship evening program, co-hosted by newsbreakers Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo. However, Pelissero has moved on to ventures with The Ringer and Netflix.
ESPN and NFL Network have recently collaborated following ESPN’s agreement with the NFL. This deal, completed earlier this year, granted the NFL a 10% equity stake in ESPN.
The agreement includes plans to integrate talent across platforms. ESPN NFL reporters Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano will sometimes co-host with Schefter. Similarly, NFL Network figures Ian Rapoport, Stacey Dales, Cynthia Frelund, Steve Smith, Kyle Brandt, and Gerald McCoy will make appearances on ESPN shows.
Molly McGrath and Mina Kimes from ESPN will also be seen on NFL Network’s programs, including its Sunday pregame show.
Recently, both Schefter and Rapoport secured multi-year contracts with ESPN. Their roles are pivotal as ESPN prepares for its Super Bowl broadcast in February, with appearances planned for “Get Up,” “SportsCenter,” and the “Pat McAfee Show.”
