Meghan Markle will not be appearing in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, as reported by royal biographer Tina Brown. Brown, known for her editorial work with Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, shared on her Substack that Markle’s role in the Netflix series’ third season has been withdrawn. According to her, the strong opposition in the UK made it unfeasible to proceed, raising concerns about Markle’s potential acting revival in the UK.
Brown is also recognized for her bestselling books, The Diana Chronicles and The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor – the Truth and the Turmoil. Markle’s possible return to acting in Ritchie’s series would have marked her first acting role since marrying Prince Harry and joining the royal family in 2018.
Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Markle has explored various projects in streaming, podcasting, lifestyle, and philanthropy. Her last appearance on screen was in the TV series Suits in 2018.
Royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner commented that focusing on Markle’s acting could overshadow Prince William and Kate, possibly heightening tensions between the brothers.
Additionally, it’s been revealed that Markle and Prince Harry are planning a move back to England by month’s end. The couple had previously signed a multi-project deal with Netflix after relocating to California in 2020. This deal included their 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan, which critiqued royal life.
However, the couple’s recent ‘first-look’ agreement with Netflix suggests a downgrade from the original arrangement. Fox News Digital sought comments from Archewell and biographer Brown regarding these developments.
