Recent coverage by certain media outlets has spotlighted Sophie Cunningham and the Indiana Fever, while Atlanta Dream All-Star forward Angel Reese is having a standout basketball season. In a recent game on Monday night, the Dream, with a strong performance, defeated the Toronto Tempo with a score that enhanced their record to 20-12, leaving Toronto at 10-22.
Angel Reese delivered a remarkable performance, securing 20 points with 50% shooting accuracy and grabbing 14 rebounds. This achievement marked her 22nd double-double in the 2026 WNBA season, setting a new franchise record for the Dream for the highest number of double-doubles in one season.
“She IS the Double-Diva,” the Dream announced on the platform X. “She IS at the top of her game. And she IS etched into Atlanta Dream history with the most double-doubles in a single season.”
With 12 regular-season games remaining, Reese has ample opportunity to further extend her record. She has achieved a double-double in five out of her last six games, and at this pace, she could challenge Alyssa Thomas’s record for the most double-doubles in a single WNBA season.
For the season, Reese averages 15.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. She leads the WNBA in rebounds with 11.9 per game, positioning herself to secure her third consecutive rebounds title. Despite these individual successes, Reese consistently states her main focus is winning a championship with the Dream since her trade from the Chicago Sky in April.
The Dream look forward to qualifying for the playoffs, offering Reese her first playoff experience since she joined the league as the seventh overall pick in the 2024 draft. This week, the Dream will visit the Connecticut Sun on Thursday and will host the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
