Notable discoveries include the 1961 unearthing of the Pilate Stone, which confirmed the historical existence and title of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor who condemned Jesus. This discovery provided substantial evidence matching biblical descriptions.
Similarly, in 1967, at Deir ‘Alla in Jordan, archaeologists found an inscription referencing “Balaam, son of Beor,” a character from the Bible, further illustrating the accuracy of biblical records.
Further evidence supporting the Bible includes the discovery of an ossuary in Jerusalem inscribed with “Yehoseph bar Caiapha,” linked to Caiaphas, the high priest involved in the trial of Jesus. This find not only substantiated the biblical narrative but also provided his remains.
D’Souza remarked, “Archaeology offers compelling support for the Bible’s accounts of people, places, and events.”
