Harry Potter star Jessie Cave has revealed the financial impact of joining OnlyFans, describing it as a transformative decision for her family. During an interview with The Times, Cave shared she surpassed her earnings from her acting career within a year on the platform.
The 39-year-old actress expected to make a modest sum initially, aiming for £5,000 to help her plan the future. However, her OnlyFans venture has lasted over eighteen months, providing significant financial relief.
Cave charges subscribers $6 monthly for non-explicit ‘hair content,’ which features her styling and braiding her hair in various costumes. She highlights her earnings have surpassed what she made in her acting career in just one year.
Cave rose to fame playing Lavender Brown in the final three Harry Potter films from 2009 to 2011. She has appeared in shows like Black Mirror and Industry and pursued theater roles.
“I couldn’t go and, say, work in a supermarket because I can’t afford the childcare, and also I don’t want people shouting Harry Potter spells at me,” she explained.
After facing career setbacks, Cave decided to explore OnlyFans for financial stability. She shared her success in earning around $20,200 on the platform in a single day.
Her sole rule for content creation is that her hair should be prominent, justifying her approach to non-explicit material on a platform known for adult content.
Cave believes other artists might turn to platforms like OnlyFans to generate income during gaps in their artistic endeavors.
She initially announced her decision to join OnlyFans on her Substack in March 2025, aiming to improve her living conditions and reduce debts.
