Baron Corbin has made a significant comeback to WWE. Recently, he re-entered the wrestling scene with a clear target: Trick Williams and the United States Championship. During SummerSlam on Sunday night, Corbin successfully captured the title, taking advantage of a distracted Williams.
Corbin celebrated his victory at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 2, 2026. Williams entered the match accompanied by rapper Lil Yachty, who has previously played a crucial role in Williams’ matches. However, Yachty’s presence during this bout proved counterproductive.
At one point, Yachty attempted to intimidate Corbin with the “Trick Stick,” diverting the challenger’s attention. Despite Yachty’s involvement, Corbin maintained his focus. When Corbin brought the U.S. title into the ring, he hip-checked Williams into Yachty, sending the rapper crashing through a table. This distraction allowed Corbin to strike Williams with the belt while the referee was not looking.
Following this, Corbin executed his finishing move, the End of Days, on Williams, securing the pin and his second reign as U.S. champion. Corbin first won the title in 2017. His journey took a turn in 2024 when he left WWE and became a notable figure in the independent wrestling scene, participating in Major League Wrestling and becoming a tag team champion with Donovan Dijak.
For Trick Williams, the defeat marks the end of his 105-day reign as U.S. champion. Williams secured the title after defeating Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42.
