Mexican boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez has made significant marks in boxing. Known as the first undisputed super middleweight champion, Álvarez achieved his first world title at 20. Now 36, he shared insights with “CBS Mornings” about his career and future decisions.

Álvarez mentioned what would signal his retirement from the sport. “When I’m in the gym and taking many punches, if my body doesn’t respond as before, I’ll know it’s time,” he stated. “I can’t fight with insufficient training, as training reveals everything.”

With over 60 wins and titles in four weight classes, Álvarez acknowledged he feels “good,” yet hinted that his boxing endeavors are nearing completion. “There’s not much left for me in boxing,” Álvarez remarked, expressing desires to pursue goals beyond the ring.

For more of Álvarez’s thoughts, watch his interview on “CBS Mornings” this Friday.
