Heavy Rain Leads to Roof Collapse
Heavy rains hit New Jersey on Monday, causing part of the roof of a large retail store to collapse. The incident temporarily trapped two people inside the building, according to authorities.

At around 11:16 a.m., Ocean Township police, Monmouth Court Sheriff’s deputies, and other first responders arrived at BJ’s Wholesale Club. According to the sheriff’s office, there were 27 individuals inside the store when the ceiling collapsed. The two trapped individuals managed to free themselves and exit safely.

Videos from the scene show significant flooding inside the BJ’s Wholesale Store located in Oakhurst, N.J. Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden commented on the situation, stating, “This incident is another reminder of how quickly severe weather can create dangerous and unpredictable conditions.”
