A 56-year-old man was discovered deceased Thursday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood of Chicago. Authorities reported the incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. outside a home located in the 2000 block of West 47th Street. Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the details.
An autopsy conducted on Friday revealed that the man died from ‘multiple injuries’ sustained during a ‘dog mauling.’ The cause of death has been classified as accidental. As of Friday afternoon, the man’s home address remained unknown, and attempts to contact his family for comments were unsuccessful.
It remains unclear how many dogs were involved in the attack. The Chicago Police Department has stated that detectives are actively investigating the death.
