Three teenagers sustained gunshot wounds on Saturday night in North Lawndale according to Chicago police. Officers arrived at a large gathering in the 1400 block of S. Christiana Ave. around 11:30 p.m., responding to reports of gunfire. Upon reaching the location, they heard several shots.
During the incident, people fled the scene. A 19-year-old man approached the officers with gunshot injuries to his groin and forearm. Acting quickly, officers applied a tourniquet, and he was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he is in serious condition.
A 19-year-old woman also went to Mt. Sinai on her own. She had been shot in the buttocks and is in good condition. Additionally, an 18-year-old woman was later found with a gunshot wound in the buttocks and was brought to Mt. Sinai, where she is reported to be in good condition as well.
Area Four detectives are currently investigating the incident.
