Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Opens in North Dakota

The legacy of the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, has been honored with the opening of a new presidential library. Located in the Badlands of North Dakota, this library pays tribute to Roosevelt’s commitment to conservation, a passion deeply influenced by the rugged landscape of the area.

Senior arts correspondent Jeffrey Brown recently visited the site as part of the arts and culture series, CANVAS. Brown has had a diverse career of over 30 years with the NewsHour, where he has worked as a co-anchor, studio moderator, and field reporter. His assignments have taken him across the nation and around the world. As an arts correspondent, Brown has interviewed many prominent artists, including writers, musicians, and actors.

Some of Brown’s notable projects at the NewsHour include the “Culture at Risk” series, which highlights threatened cultural heritage in the U.S. and abroad. He also helped create the NewsHour’s online platform “Art Beat” and hosts the monthly book club “Now Read This” in collaboration with The New York Times.

Mike Fritz, the deputy senior producer for field segments at PBS NewsHour, contributed to this occasion. His role in producing field segments has been integral to bringing stories from around the country to the audience.
