Recently, Christina Applegate shared that she had been misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis, bringing a mix of relief and uncertainty about her health condition. Known for her role in ‘Married… with Children,’ Applegate had announced in 2021 that she was facing the challenges linked to MS.
On her podcast ‘MeSsY,’ co-hosted by Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Applegate discussed her misdiagnosis. Her earlier diagnostic tests indicated she had a disease affecting the nerves’ protective covering, similar to Sigler’s experience. However, her doctor later informed her that she does not have MS.
Despite this revelation, Applegate expressed confusion over the situation because symptoms persist. She conveyed that the lack of clarity about her health affects her sense of purpose, especially since she had embraced the role of an MS activist.
She noted, “I’m back at square one that I don’t know what’s going on with me,” emphasizing that her health has not improved, and in some ways, has worsened.
“You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of a sudden I’m better, right? I haven’t gotten better.”
Applegate’s recent public appearances, such as the Light Up The Blues 7 Concert, show her resilience despite health challenges. She continues to experience every symptom associated with MS, leaving her and her supporters in uncertainty.
Applegate openly shares her vulnerability about navigating her health troubles through candid interviews and her podcast. Last March, she spoke on NPR about contemplating death and making preparations despite lacking a clear diagnosis.
