Miami Hurricanes Triumph Over Florida State in Double Overtime Thriller

The Miami Hurricanes continue their undefeated streak this season, narrowly escaping an upset with a thrilling double-overtime victory against Florida State (FSU). The game ended 43-35, marking another chapter in this storied rivalry.

Miami’s quarterback Darian Mensah played a pivotal role, throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns. The decisive throw was a 3-yard pass to Malachi Toney in the second overtime. Toney had a stellar night, amassing 154 receiving yards and successfully passing a 2-point conversion to Cooper Barkate.

On the defensive side, Bryce Fitzgerald secured the win for Miami with a crucial interception during FSU’s final play.

FSU put up a strong fight with quarterback Ashton Daniels throwing for 298 yards and four touchdowns. Duce Robinson contributed significantly with two vital late-game touchdown receptions. His 75-yard catch tied the game near the end of regulation, followed by a 20-yard grab at the start of the first overtime.

This loss adds to the growing pressure on FSU’s head coach, Mike Norvell. Norvell’s team has one of the nation’s worst records over the last three years, exacerbated by losing 14 consecutive away games since their Orange Bowl defeat against Georgia in 2023.

As the season progresses, both teams will need to address their challenges. Miami aims to maintain its strong performance, while FSU seeks to break free from its losing streak. The road ahead remains demanding for both, with more high-stakes games on the horizon.
