ESPN Analyst Dan Orlovsky Mourns Brother-in-law’s Sudden Passing

Dan Orlovsky, an ESPN NFL analyst, announced the unexpected death of his brother-in-law, Federico Lascano, at age 43. Lascano was married to Orlovsky’s sister, Christine. In a heartfelt post on social media, Orlovsky described Lascano’s passing as an ‘unimaginable tragedy’ and shared a GoFundMe campaign to assist his sister.

‘There are no words to describe the heartbreak of losing a husband, a partner, and a father so suddenly,’ he wrote. He highlighted his sister Christine’s new reality of parenting alone and managing a single-income household. The loss comes with the challenge of helping her children cope with the absence of their father.

The GoFundMe effort aims to raise funds for Christine’s everyday living expenses, bills, groceries, and the educational costs for their children. Orlovsky emphasized that no family should face such heartbreak or financial stress while attempting to rebuild their lives. The page mentions that donations will support Christine’s transition to life without her husband, who was the family’s main breadwinner.

At the time of reporting, the campaign had secured over $84,000. Contributors include notable figures such as Andrew Whitworth, Diana Taurasi, Chris Mara, Jason McCourty, and Brian Flores. The couple had been together since their college years, underscoring the depth of their partnership.

This tragic event underscores the emotional and financial toll that such unexpected losses can have on a family. Orlovsky’s message calls for easing the financial burden, allowing the family to focus on healing. The cause of Lascano’s death has not been disclosed.
