Suspect Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Chicago Lawn

A suspect was taken into custody on Thursday night following the fatal stabbing of a 48-year-old woman during an altercation at a residence in Chicago Lawn, as reported by Chicago police.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. The woman was involved in a verbal dispute with a male suspect, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, the suspect produced a weapon and inflicted a chest wound on the victim before fleeing the location, according to police.

The victim was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was declared deceased.

Police apprehended the suspect near the 3400 block of West 56th Place. A weapon was discovered inside the residence. Officials indicate that the stabbing is believed to be domestic-related, and investigations are ongoing. Charges are yet to be filed.
