Fox News Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Nasdaq

FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott rang the Closing Bell at Nasdaq MarketSite in New York City on Tuesday, commemorating Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary. This event marked three decades since the debut of Fox News on October 7, 1996. Among the original hosts present were Lauren Green, Trace Gallagher, Steve Doocy, and Brit Hume. Fox News Media President and Executive Editor Jay Wallace along with other long-serving employees also joined the celebration.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be here at NASDAQ as we celebrate a remarkable milestone, 30 years of Fox News,” Scott expressed before ringing the bell.

Three decades ago, Rupert Murdoch, Chairman Emeritus of Fox Corporation, launched Fox News with an ambitious plan to provide a balanced voice in the national discourse. Today, Fox News has expanded from a single linear network to a diversified media powerhouse, encompassing digital, streaming, audio, and books. This growth is attributed to the leadership of Fox Corp Executive Chair and CEO Lachlan Murdoch.

Scott highlighted that Fox News Media connects with over 200 million people monthly through various platforms.

“Milestones like this are about recognizing the people behind our success—the journalists, producers, technicians, correspondents, executives, and countless colleagues who contribute their skill, energy, and commitment daily,” Scott noted.

Scott emphasized the importance of viewers who have integrated Fox News Channel into their lives. As they celebrate 30 years of reporting and analysis, Fox News looks forward to embracing new technology and platforms to engage audiences in novel ways.

Appreciation for the Fox News team and viewers was expressed as Scott wrapped up her remarks.

In addition to holding the Closing Bell ceremony in high regard, Nasdaq Executive Vice President Jeff Thomas recognized FOX News Media as a celebrated global media brand, presenting Scott with a Closing Bell crystal.

Since becoming CEO in 2018, Suzanne Scott has overseen Fox News’ cable ratings dominance and initiated several platform expansions. These include FOX News Books (2020), a brand renewal for FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, and FOX Business. She has also introduced streaming services like FOX Nation (2018), FOX News International (2020), and FOX Weather (2021).
