Chicago White Sox Thrive on Home Crowd Energy in ALDS

Chicago White Sox first baseman Munetaka Murakami appreciates the energetic home crowds at Rate Field. Speaking through an interpreter, Murakami commented on the enthusiasm, saying, “The crowds have been really awesome throughout the year. It gets really loud. I’m happy the crowds are there and supporting the team all the way.”

The White Sox look forward to an electrifying atmosphere on Wednesday as they face the Cleveland Guardians for Game 3 of the American League Division Series. This will be the team’s first home game of the postseason.

Manager Will Venable noted, “The enthusiasm on the field is special. It comes from players excited to play hard and is fueled by our fans. They’ve been there every step of the way as far as the growth of this club.”

Reliever Grant Taylor added, “I’m excited for what the crowds are going to bring us. It’s about time we gave them some postseason baseball.”

The Sox have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series. General Manager Chris Getz highlighted the support from fans, saying, “This fan base has been supportive throughout the year. Our player group responds well to our fan base.”

According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Game 3 marks just the second time the Sox play a home game with a chance to clinch a postseason series. The previous occasion was during Game 6 of the 1906 World Series, which the Sox won against the Cubs.

Sean Newcomb to Start Game 3

Sean Newcomb will start Game 3 for the Sox. In Game 2, he came in as the first reliever after starting pitcher Anthony Kay faced three batters. Despite a run-scoring error, Newcomb struck out three over two innings.

Venable praised Newcomb’s performance: “He was really crisp and sharp. We have a lot of confidence in him.” Newcomb’s presence is expected to be critical, with all hands on deck for Game 3.

Daniel Espino will start for the Guardians.

Grant Taylor’s Preparation for Game 2

Grant Taylor impressed with four innings for the save in Game 1 and another save in Game 2. He described his recovery process as essential between the games. He maximized rest, focusing on sleep and recovery methods such as massages and hydration.

“Ensuring your arm’s ready, good to go,” Taylor said about his preparation. His efforts contributed to securing the win.

Munetaka Murakami on Team Unity

Murakami had key moments in the ALDS games, hitting a two-run home run in Game 1 and an RBI single in Game 2. He emphasized the team’s unified approach, contributing at all points during the games.

“We’re very unified. Our batting, one through nine, is contributing, and so is our bullpen, taking out batters in tough positions,” Murakami said.

He stressed that their success comes from teamwork and moving in the same direction.
