Authorities have identified the two individuals killed during a shooting at a neighborhood homecoming party in Vienna, Georgia on Sunday. The violent event left 35 other people injured.
The incident started at approximately 1:25 a.m. at the large gathering, which covered four blocks. Dooly County Sheriff Craig Peavy termed it a ‘senseless act of violence’ and confirmed that the investigation is still active. No arrests have been made so far.
The victims who lost their lives have been named Ja’Quavion Aderious Jackson, 21, and Macaleb Malik Jackson, 23. The 35 injured individuals range from 14 to 51 years old. Their conditions vary from stable to critical, according to Sheriff Peavy.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is urging anyone with information on the shooting to reach out to authorities or provide an anonymous tip to aid the ongoing investigation.
