AEW’s Innovative ‘Clockwork Carnage’ Match Debuts at WrestleDream

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) continuously innovates with enthralling match formats. From Stadium Stampede to Blood and Guts, AEW captives fans with unparalleled spectacles. A new addition takes place at WrestleDream—the Clockwork Carnage match.

The Clockwork Carnage match, featuring eight wrestlers, unfolds over two distinct stages. Initially, two wrestlers commence the contest. Every three minutes, another wrestler, chosen at random, joins the battle. During this stage, a wrestler facing pinfall or submission exits the match when one of these methods eliminates them. This process continues until all eight competitors are involved.

Once the eighth wrestler has joined, a 15-minute scoring period begins. Wrestlers aim to accumulate falls through pinfalls or submissions. At the end of this period, the wrestler with the highest fall count claims victory.

A thrilling aspect of the upcoming Clockwork Carnage is the AEW World Championship defense by Will Ospreay. Ospreay, holding the title after defeating Kenny Omega at All In, will risk everything to retain the championship. Before WrestleDream, Ospreay faces Kazuchika Okada at Grand Slam France, adding further challenges to his title reign.

In addition to Ospreay’s stakes, Jack Perry and Samoa Joe aim to secure their positions in the match. Samoa Joe, recently returning at All Out, prepares for fierce competition.

WrestleDream is scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. The event promises intense excitement for wrestling fans.
