White House border official Tom Homan has confirmed that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is investigating allegations against Representative Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. He did not provide details, describing it as an “ongoing criminal investigation.” Homan emphasized that nobody, whether a congressperson or not, is above the law if immigration violations are found.
When pressed about evidence of immigration or naturalization fraud by Omar, Homan declined to provide a specific comment. However, he acknowledged that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is involved. “Something’s been reported and needs to be looked at,” he stated.
“If someone committed an immigration violation or marriage fraud, no one’s above the law,” Homan reiterated.
Omar has faced allegations suggesting she married her brother to facilitate immigration. She denies these claims, which have not been proven in public records. She has labeled such accusations as “bigoted lies.”
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin previously mentioned on a podcast that there might be illegal activities related to family migration involving Omar. He suggested that, if proven, there could be grounds for deportation.
The Justice Department is reportedly examining whether Omar committed immigration fraud. Vice President JD Vance commented on suspicions involving Omar’s marriages, advocating for equal justice under the law. He mentioned discussions with White House immigration advisor Stephen Miller regarding potential legal actions against Omar.
Homan outlined a denaturalization process available for proven immigration fraud, stating it is “very serious.” If evidence shows misrepresentation during the citizenship process, denaturalization is possible, a practice used for decades.
Fox News Digital reached out for a comment from Omar’s office. The investigation continues, underscoring the severity of immigration fraud allegations.
