Law enforcement officers intervened at Miami International Airport after an American Airlines flight faced an unexpected situation. Reports indicated a female passenger removed her clothing and behaved indecently mid-flight.
Flight 1779 departed from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on September 11, 2025, at 9 p.m. EDT, experiencing a slight delay. The flight landed in Miami shortly after 11:23 p.m. EDT.
During the flight to Florida, issues arose in row 9. Flight attendants informed the cockpit of a disturbance involving a passenger.
Passengers behaving inappropriately risk lifelong bans from multiple airlines, according to a new proposal.
The lead flight attendant reported, via Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS), that a female passenger in seat 9D removed all clothing and engaged in inappropriate acts visible to others. This incident required reporting to American Airlines’ Integrated Operations Center and necessitated law enforcement intervention.
Despite the incident, the flight continued to its intended destination, arriving at Gate D2, Terminal N. Upon landing, officers detained the passenger.
It is unclear what actions the cabin crew took to handle the situation during the flight. Authorities and the airline are yet to provide further comments on the incident.
