WWE star Roxanne Perez is the only woman in The Judgment Day faction without a championship title, but this could change soon. Her pursuit of the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship begins with a fatal four-way match against La Hiedra, Faby Apache, and Nattie during Night 1 of Triplemania 34 in Las Vegas. The winner will earn a title shot at Worlds Collide.
Perez has often been supported by her faction mates like Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. They usually back her during matches, showing the camaraderie within The Judgment Day. However, ahead of the No. 1 contender match, Perez noted that Morgan and Rodriguez were absent.
“I think they know I can handle this,” Perez said. “I traveled here for my own opportunity. My teammates are excelling on the main roster, and I wanted a championship for myself. So, I came to AAA to achieve that.”
This event marks Perez’s first participation in Triplemania, a premier showcase for the AAA roster. Reflecting on her journey, Perez mentioned that she had an earlier chance to train with AAA at 16 but her parents were apprehensive. Now, she embraces this opportunity as a full-circle moment in her career.
“I’ve been training to become a WWE superstar since 13. When I was 16, I was invited to AAA to train and perform. But I was too young to seize it then,” she explained. “Now, I represent my culture as a proud Mexican and Puerto Rican WWE superstar.”
Perez recognizes the challenge ahead but remains confident about her goal. She doesn’t underestimate her competition, acknowledging their strengths and contributions to wrestling. “La Hiedra masters AAA. Natalya is a WWE trailblazer. Faby Apache is a Lucha Libre legend. I respect them,” Perez stated.
“I have a great opportunity and I’m determined to take it. ‘The Prodigy’ has overcome much in the last decade, and I’m ready for this moment,” she asserted.
Triplemania 34 Night 1 begins at 10 p.m. ET in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena, with Night 2 in Mexico City. The events are available to watch on YouTube.
